Monthly Archives: September 2018
These are the speed sounds we have been learning this week. Take a look in your child’s reading packet and have a go at the games within the information leaflet.
We look forward to seeing you at the RWI parents workshop on Monday the 2nd of October at 2:45pm.
What a busy week it has been! Here are some of our highlights –
We have started our PE sessions in the hall. Here we are carrying the Little Red Hen’s corn. We found lots of imaginative ways to transport it carefully using different parts of our bodies.
Painting leaves after an autumn walk!
Using our new speed sounds – s/m/a/d and t to read and write simple CVC words.
What better way to develop our gross motor skills ready for reading and writing than by using our special ‘Flipper-flappers’ to dance around to songs from Mama Mia 2. The children moved their arms up and down to create straight lines whilst also criss-crossing across their bodies too. We then repeated these actions on paper using a pen in each hand. What a great way to get everyone actively involved in mark-making!
Did you know it was ‘Rice Krispie Cake Day’ last Tuesday? In order to celebrate we decided to make some of our very own. We may have been a little inspired by ‘The great British Bake-Off’ too! The children had great fun mixing the melted chocolate. We think they tasted scrumptious!
